SHELL BEACH TWO DAY REPORT..12/06 & 12/07....Two great days of fishing with two fantastic groups. Yesterday Will wanted me to take his lovely wife and two beautiful children fishing and be back in time for the Saints game. I picked them up at his camp in Proctors Landing at 7:30 am and with a well full of Campo's live shrimp we headed for the marsh and a secret spot I was saving for a request like his. As it turned out it was the only stop we needed as it was trout on from the first cast to the last. There was a lot of screaming and laughing and trout coming into the boat as they kept me busy casting, baiting and taking fish off. An hour and a half and 75 trout later(10am) Will said they had had enough so we headed for the beach to watch the Saints wrap up their conference title, WHO DAT.

TODAY, Curtis and Neil from Mobile came down for a freezer filling trip and it was another one spot stop as the guys got on the trout right away and started slinging them over the gunwale one after the other. They wanted me to join them so I threw my Billy Bay Shrimp 2 ft. under a rattling cork and put 25 in the box to go along with their 50. Although they are both in their late seventies they can really fish great and showed it today. It was another fun day at the beach.

TWO MORE GREAT DAYS IN THE BLAZER BAY.

SHELL BEACH REPORT  11/14--11/16.....Here we go again more limits in the Biloxi marsh as Sat. we fished the ponds and bayous to find our trout and redfish using Campo's live shrimp and H&H Cocahoe tails. Slow falling tide had my two guests putting them in the box one after the other until we had our limits in the box. ON MONDAY my two guests wanted to catch some reds first so we headed for a few small ponds deep in the marsh and at the second pond we got into some good grilling reds in the 24 to 26 inch range. After getting what we wanted we went looking for some specks and with the conditions ideal we made 2 stops and got what we needed to satisfy the guys so we headed for the beach for the clean-up. Campo's live shrimp 2 ft. under a rattling cork worked the best. TWO MORE GREAT DAYS IN THE BLAZER BAY.

GREAT FALL ACTION IS UNDER WAY, DON'T MISS IT, GIVE US A CALL.

SHELL BEACH REPORT 10-4-09....Trout and redfishing continues to be outstanding in the marshes around "The Beach" with limits being taken daily. Live shrimp under a rattling cork is working well for both, but the trout are also starting to hit lures such as Hybred Magic Minnoes freelined and Halo Shrimp under a cork. This is just the beginning so don't miss the action. Give us a call and make some memories.....Capt. Hook
SHELL BEACH REPORT 9-26-09...Had two boats out, one with Capt. Tim jr, two dads and their sons and they wanted to get on the trout. My group was also two dads and their sons, all 8 were together and split up in the two boats. My group wanted to put their kids on some hard pulling action so we headed for mr. redfish. We stopped at Campo's and were welcomed as always with friendly service from Robie, Michael and F.J. and after filling the livewell with their world famous "catch fish or die trying live shrimp" we headed for the Biloxi Marsh. Upon arriving in the marsh we split up with jr. heading for deeper water and me for the shallower ponds while always remaining in radio contact. Our first stop for reds proved to be the best as we stopped in a very small pond where the water was pushing in and the bait was stacking up. The dads held off as they wanted the kids to hook up first and it didn't take long for that to happen. On the boys first casts they were both hooked up and now there was a potential problem as the reds went wild breaking water and running in circles. The boys kept changing positions and did a great job of not tangling and got their reds to the net after a hard pulling fight. The dads wanted to get into the action so the baited up as I took off the kids reds and before I knew it they were hooked up and the water in the pond was getting rough from the wakes and splashes from the hooked reds. The kids were excited and wanted to get back out but had to wait for the dads to land their reds. While waiting I baited them up and they were positioning themselves to cast and as soon as their dads reds were close enough to the boat, out their lines went and down went the corks and it was on for a third time and the boys were laughing and screaming and the drags were singing and the Challenger rods worked flawlessly. After the boys landed theirs the action continued but not quite as fast but it was steady and they kept putting them in the box along with some black puppy drum and a flounder. After landing over 28 reds up to 28 inches we turned 8 back and kept their 20 limit and decided to get in on some trout action as I had radioed Capt. Tim jr. and he told me that they were pushing 70 trout and headed for their limits and the action was non stop so we headed their way. When we pulled up they were all putting trout in the box so I threw the two cajun anchors about 40 yards downstream from them and the action started slow but was good. There was a few throwbacks but after about an hour we had about 30 keepers in the box as the tide quit so both of us moved closer to the lake and picked up the tide as it was starting to fall. The reds starting coming out of the marsh and it was on again with some monster reds hitting opening nights and live shrimp on the bottom, which we caught and released. The trout were there too and we managed to put 23 more in the box and jr's boat was tearing up the reds using opening night hybreds fished slow against the current and it was great to see everyone having a great time reeling them in. Between both boats we landed over 36 reds and boxed over 130 trout, needless to say it was a great father son outing and by the way they talked it's going to happen again. Thanks to my son Capt. Tim jr. for a job well done as usual. CHALLENGER RODS HAULED THEM IN AGAIN.

SHELL BEACH REPORT 9-23-09...The reds didn't have a chance!!
Harry one of my regulars and his grandaughter Paris came in from Ga. to catch some reds and thats what they did. She wanted to catch her first Louisiana red with Capt. Hook and I was ready to make it happen. After picking up some Campo's live shrimp we headed for the Biloxi Marsh and it was on as we hit a very small pond. Paris was ready and on her first cast and on the next 8 casts she was hooked up with some of the hardest fighting reds she has ever experienced. She was really having a great time but her arms were getting tired but never gave up. After putting our limit in the box and releasing a few more we moved about a hundred yards to get in on some trout action and give Paris' arms a break and on her first cast it was on, but wait a minute this fish is stripping line, could it be, on it is , another red and a big one. Paris was a trooper and got it to the boat for a photo and released it for another day. After 3 more reds the trout finally turned on and Paris was happy to put some in the box and not have sore arms. After a great morning of catching and plenty of smiles we headed for the beach for a needed rest, Oh, by the way Harry did put his share in the box but was definately out fished by his grandaughter. ANOTHER GREAT DAY IN THE BLAZER BAY.

9/11/09....SHELL BEACH REPORT.....Trout and redfishing remains steady as the fish make their annual transition from the outer bays to the inside marshes. The redfishing is outstanding and will continue through the fall as they are attacking weedless gold spoons, shallow running crank baits and plastics. Redfishing usually peaks in October as the reds invade the many duck ponds looking for crabs their number one food source. The trout are moving into the deeper bayous leading into the marshes and are setting up ambush points at the mouths of the lagoons and ponds looking for live and artificial baits. The chartruse, glo or purple beetle fished 2 ft. under a popping cork will put  a bunch in the box. If you are interested in a custom redfish or trout trip give me a call and get on the books....Capt. Hook
